Hey guys.
Lesha, Joyce and I are planning a trip to go to Bangkok after graduation.

We plan to go maybe mid-May.
train from KL-Butterworth-Bangkok is around RM140+ something. (one way)
air asia from KL-Bangkok is around RM169 (include tax) (one way), RM338. (two way)
everything is not confirmed yet of course, cuz there'll be a Mattafair on the 12, 13 or 14th March.

This is our last chance to travel, hang out and party guys!
Hotels all those, we are thinking of budget hotels cuz BACKPACKING is awesome! haha :D
hmm Batch 75 president- Hafiz and Doreen also wants us all to go somewhre together.
If we go to Thailand, we can go shopping, night market, go to the BEACH (OMG AWESOME)! :D
go eat. and photography sessions s well.
and we wanna go find Ser as well.

I would strongly encourage everyone to go to this talk because Warren Buffett is one of the most successful and renowned investor in the world. This type of chance don't come easily all the time. Moreover, you get to attend a free talk by Warren Buffett! Normal public will need to pay hundreds for the ticket to attend the talk. The talk will be about financial planning for young people. As we will start our own life in the working world in the future, we will need to know how we're going to manage our finance and if not getting rich, at least we can feed ourselves until we're old. lol. It's time to plan for the future.

Hope your 2010 started off well!

As mentioned before the Xmas break – I am looking for contacts (teachers/professors/tutors/lecturers/instructors would be great) at art schools all across the planet.

This autumn I’ll be starting up a platform for some of the planets most talented young artists, photographers and designers. Visual artists so to say. We’ll provide a them with a platform and we’ll also sell re-productions of their works in limited numbers over the website. That’s the idea in a nutshell. Oh – and the artists should all be still students. This is not a must – but the idea is that we take young talent who one day would like to become professional and provide them with a first platform (a global one at that). I already have a few fantastic kids in the Swiss area – now I’d like to enlarge my network across the globe.

I plan on visiting most of the schools too. So.. If you could help me out in any way I’d be really grateful and would love to take you out for a dinner next time I’m in your area. i.e. Hopefully soon.

Hello all,

An update for the bazaar.
The Bazaar group leader will have to write a full report at the end of the selling day about the proceedings of the bazaar.

The PR rep will only take the log in/log out time with remarks if any special occurrence takes place( simple reports).
Just write it in a simple essay form. The format could be as below:

1. What time started setting up
2. The stall got ready at what time
3. list of food you are selling and also the price
3. How's business that day during:
a) morning b)noon c)afternoon
(could include income update every few hours)
4. The day's total collection excluding startup cost
5. Face any problems?
6. Self-evaluation
7. Grading of team members (on a scale of 0-10, with the team's agreement) *Hand in report latest on Friday. send to:Joyce / Travin (travinttf@gmail.com)

Hey guys, please take note the following few announcements for our graduation campaign.

1. RM50

Everyone, please remember to bring RM50 to Joyce and me(Travin) by thursday because we need the budget to print the greeting card. =D

2. Greeting Card Design

To let everyone contribute in this campaign, we decided let every major to design their own design for the Festival Greeting Card. This is a great chance to expose your design to the public because your name will be printed on the card that u have designed. Also, don't forget there's a portion of your marks going under teamwork participation.

Get your greeting card design in by Next Monday (1st of Feb).

Guys, lets take action now! Make our greeting card AWESOME and make it sell like hot cakes. so in the end, we will earn a lot of money for our graduation campaign.

whoever that is willing to volunteer, please msn me(Travin) because I need to assign a festival for you to design and I will also let you know the detail of the card format.

3. Bazaar working list

We're going to start our Bazaar next week.

During the bazaar is running, every group leader MUST write a working list and submit to us (Joyce/Travin). The working list must contain all your group members log in and log out time because Stephen wants to make sure everyone is working.

So everyone, must add oil and sell hard to get the net profit target RM 300 per day. =D

4. Graduation Ceremony Showcase

Do you still remember Wei Peow briefed us last week about how to make our graduation ceremony showcase? If you forget already, pls take attention here:

a. To make the Graduation Ceremony an enjoyable occasion for all, we would like to requestyour best design work [3 designs] to be compiled for the presentation during the ceremony. These showcase will be pivotal in displaying the vast improvement you have achieved through your hard work and creativity.

b. Only artworks in CD form will be accepted in the format as stated below:

Image Format

Resolution: 72dpi (RGB)

File Format: jpeg only

Video Format

File format: Quicktime Sorenson (High Quality)

Audio: None

Dimension: 480 x 382 pixels

c. Each student only has 15 seconds show reel.

The submissions are to be made before 25 February 2010

So everyone please click: Download to download the psd file and start to make your own showcase.

When you're done, put 3 of your files (jpeg/video) and ur photoshop file into a folder and name it as below:

mm075_yourName_yourIndexNo

You can submit your folder to Joyce or me (Travin).

After we get everyone's(mm75) files, Both of us will burn into a CD/DVD and submit it to SRA department.

so for our convenience, you must submit your folder before a day of deadline submission so we have enough time to arrange all of yours file and burn into CD/DVD - mark your calendars: 24 February 2010.

Transport : on your own but advise to use public transport as there will be road closure.

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 15 (Bernama) -- Come Sept 26, a large-scale lantern festival will be held at Central Market to promote the 1Malaysia spirit and lure foreign tourists.

"Besides that, we hope to introduce and promote Chinese celebrations to other races and foreigners," said Kuala Lumpur Action Council general manager Datuk Yew Teong Look at a news conference on the KL Lantern Festival 2009.

The event which is supported by the tourism ministry and 100 non-governmental organisations is expected to see 20,000 visitors, mostly foreigners.

The council is looking at the potential of turning the annual celebration into a tourism product.

Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen will launch the festival when she lights up a 1Malaysia logo-shaped lantern.

There will be lion and dragon dance as well as entertainment by local artistes, including this year's 2009 8TV Ultimate Power Group winner, FRIENDZ, in the forecourt of the market.

Festive revellers light up lanterns in conjuction with the Mooncake Festival which falls on Oct 3.

I've emailed Sook Chiung to ask if we can still choose to submit a complete version after the submission on Friday since most of us probably can't complete it in time.

And this is Sook Chiung's reply:

You can continue refine and enhance the project and submit to us as compilation. But the deadline for ADM project assessment is 14/8/09 (Friday).

You need to hand-in your project for assessment on Friday.

You can submit it on another later date for a complete version. But it will not affect your grade.

Also, Karen is asking for a compilation of all completed works embedded in web (complete with preloaders and stuff) so that she can help host it (and show to her friends XD), for those who are interested.

This is up to each person whether they want to complete and refine their game. It'll be good to finish it, ~~then people can play it~~ then it'll look good in your portfolio.

You can do it over the term break... slowly.. at your own time. I'll collect from you guys after the term break. :D Finish the hardwork we have started! :D :D

So yeah, submission will still be on Friday. Submit whatever you have. And we'll have another compilation for completed ones which will not affect your grades but maybe your uhm. self-motivation. :D

Hard Drive Problems?

I did post this on my blog but it's not like all of you read that =P

So my hard drive was working fine. No problems. Went to class and fine. Safely removed, went to print something, came back put it back in and fine. Then suddenly I put it in to a laptop a couple hours later "You have to format the drive." when I try to open, then it hangs and crashes...

I sent it to the computer shop and the technician said there is no way to retrieve the data! I had already backed up most of it but there were some new files that I just really really needed~ So I searched online for a way! I came across this program called GetDataBack Data Recovery Software. I downloaded it *ahem* and tried it. It managed to save all my files!! Everything no problem even though I couldn't access my hard drive at all!

So if your hard drive (internal or external) or pen drive suddenly stops working for whatever reason and you need those files, try GetDataBack Data Recovery Software! Some forums even said it could retrieve the data after formatting! But I don't know if that's true or not.

This is by no means a replacement for actually backing up your data somewhere else!
Make sure you backup all your files!

Just thought you guys should know about this =)

Movie synopsis
Her name is Rafflesia Pong (Rafflesia=largest flower in the world, which reeks of animal carcass; Pong=stink). She's a bottom-ranking arts show host who's disillusioned with "those over-rated underachievers we call artists." He's Eric Tan (Eric=Eric, Tan=typical Chinese surname), a product designer who's just about to learn that it doesn't pay to be creative. They both work for FONY, a multinational conglomerate whose mission statement, copied from a Taiwanese company, is to be original.

In the face of such pressure, will Eric and Rafflesia retain their artistic integrityor will they finally sell out to fame, fortune or some other nasty thing that also starts with "F"?

Just went to watch it last night with a group of friend, one of them was the assistant producer. The movie turn out to be a real laugh with quite a meaningful story line which you guys will understand if you are a genuine malaysian. It talks alot about the malaysian culture and also the creative industry in a comedic sense.
Its a semi comedy musical.

The Gardens Mall – Picture Perfect Competition

Dear students,

There will be a photo competition being held by the Gardens Mall from 25th March - 3rd April 2009. If you are interested and would like to win some shopping voucher, please check out the attached files for more info.

You just need to submit one 8R photo taken at the Gardens Mall together with the application form (which can be obtained from TOA front desk or Student Service Department).

Dear Siew Wei,

The title is “The Gardens Mall – Picture Perfect Competition”. I don’t think there is a specific theme. You just need to go to The Gardens Mall and take pictures there between 25th March to 3rd April. Please read the terms and conditions in one of the attached file. One of them stated that “Photographers are only allowed to take photos in Mall common areas i.e. no pictures of toilets, back-alleys, loading bay, etc.”.

I have a feeling there may not be lot of participants as the general public need to spend RM50 in a single receipt in order to participate, but TOA students don’t have to do that----you all can participate free, just need to get the original entry form from SSD or front desk as mentioned in the previous email.
